Nobody likes getting into an accident, so here are some tips on how to drive with confidence and avoid the most typical collisions.

Rear-Impact: almost everyone either has been involved in such an accident, or knows someone else who has. Usually these occur as a result of human error, so they're fairly easy to avoid if you leave plenty of room between you and the vehicle in front and try to anticipate when they may stop. If someone's tailgating you, find a safe spot to pull over and let them pass.

Side-Impact: these collisions often occur when a driver fails to yield the right of way or is driving while distracted. You can lessen the risk by always being vigilant in areas where you've got many vehicles driving in many directions, and by adjusting your driving heavier to suit the conditions.

Animals: typically, inattention to the surroundings and speeding are the cause of this type of collision. Pay attention to posted signs indicating animal crossings, and ease off the gas pedal when driving in wildlife-friendly areas.

Running Off-Road: when a vehicle winds up driving off the road, it can usually be attributed to either performance errors or decision errors. By respecting the speed limit, keeping your eyes on the road and not driving when either under the influence or tired, you're much less likely to leave the road.
