While the Ford F-150 has always been good at owning work while looking good, the new visual flair on the 2018 truck will catch more eyes than ever. Like its Super Duty siblings, the mid-cycle refresh of the F-150 will offer a different front fascia for all seven models. Likewise, updated headlights, tail lights, engines, and equipment roster are all in the cards.
The best is only getting better. In addition to stop/start tech, and options like a B&O Play audio system, those who opt for the XL or XLT trucks will get an all-new 3.3-liter V6 with 290 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque paired to a six-speed automatic. The upgraded 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 is standard on the Lariat, with 325 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque to play with. Best-in-class payload can now be had on King Ranch and Platinum trucks thanks to the fine-tuned 5.0-liter V8 (also with 400 lb-ft of torque), while Limited trucks max out on class-topping torque and towing with the twin-turbo V6’s 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of twist. Save for the base mill, all engines get the ten-speed automatic gearbox standard.
But there’s more in store for the 2018 F-150. The aforementioned models debut in the fall, but next spring, a turbodiesel V6 with class leading torque will also join the fold. Whichever speaks to you, a call to our Ford dealership in Chicago, IL can get you started on your next pickup purchase.
