The power numbers for the 2018 Ford Mustang are now public, and we’re pretty stoked by what we’re learning. EcoBoost-powered models don’t just get line-lock standard, but retains its 310 horsepower while its twist rises to 350 lb-ft for a five-second 0-60 sprint. On the GT with the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, power rises to 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque—but it will also be quite a bit quieter.

Not all the time, of course, as the Mustang GT’s exhaust note is practically legendary among enthusiasts. But when needed, the Active Valve Performance Exhaust can be toggled to Quiet Exhaust mode through your touch screen, and even scheduled for hours when folks are asleep. But for when you want to be loud and proud, the Mustang GT with the Performance Package and ten speed automatic transmission is where it’s at. Reaching sixty mph in under four seconds, you also get Drag Strip mode with peak horsepower and torque available throughout the full rev range for addictive straight-line acceleration. Also standard with that package are MagneRide dampers for better rear-wheel traction.

The 2018 Mustang will arrive in showrooms come autumn, and we’d be happy to introduce you. Contact our Ford dealership in Chicago, IL.
